CNBC's Jim Cramer on Thursday reviewed the IPO of Viking , a cruise line whose market debut this week was the biggest of the year so far. And despite its hefty price tag, Cramer said he's willing to pay up for the stock. Viking stands apart from much of the competition — its ships don't have casinos, children aren't allowed, and it specifically targets a wealthy consumer. He conceded that Viking doesn't have a perfect balance sheet, but neither do the other publicly-traded cruise lines. But to Cramer, Viking deserves a premium.

Simple snacks from the Mediterranean diet can help you cut back on processed food like potato chips, according to a dietician. The Mediterranean diet is all about focusing on moderation and nutrient-dense food instead of restriction, said registered dietitian and food writer Sheela Prakash, author of "Mediterranean Every Day: Simple, Inspired Recipes for Feel-Good Food." Snacking doesn't have to be off-limits on the Mediterranean diet, but reaching for whole foods with a healthy dose of protein and fiber can be a more energizing option than processed foods. AdvertisementPrakash shared the go-to Mediterranean diet snacks that provide all-day energy and are delicious enough to distract her husband from junk food cravings. While it takes a bit more effort up front, prepping healthy snacks at home can make it easier to stick to a healthy diet long-term than more extreme measures like cutting out snacks completely, according to Prakash.

Candidates who skip these stages "don't come across nearly as prepared as the candidates who have done their research." To that end, Cruzvergara says students and young professionals can focus on two types of research to prepare for job applications. Talk to your classmates and professors, read the news, tune into social media or listen to podcasts about those topics. Doing research on the micro-level, meanwhile, is understanding the basics of a specific job opening you're applying to. Make sure you go into interviews understanding the title, job description, required skills and experiences, and the company's goals.

AdvertisementLiving in a global city with a high quality of life is increasingly reserved for the wealthiest. The world's most liveable cities — for the wealthyThe rising cost of housing, food, and other household goods is helping worsen the affordability crisis in these cities. Vienna, for example, has kept housing costs remarkably low through its generous social housing system. The average studio apartment in Zurich costs $1.1 million and the average home across the country costs $1.4 million, the Times reported. Like in many American cities, a severe housing shortage in cities like Zurich and Geneva is also contributing to rising home costs.

Now I'm 24, and I'm totally sober. Some people even go as far as to tell me that I just must think that I'm perfect since I don't drink. I don't think drinking takes away from a person's moral goodness. Even though some people may try to make me think again about my decision to stay completely sober, I'm not going to change my mind. I am content with the choices I make and feel that those who don't understand don't need to.

But affordability isn't an issue in the world's biggest city, Tokyo. In collectivist Japan, housing policy is designed to benefit the most people possible. Investors shouldn't ignore Goldman Sachs as dealmaking regains steam and the consumer banking business turns a corner, according to HSBC. "Goldman Sachs is our preferred name in this sector," Martinez said in a note to clients. Goldman shares have underperformed the broader market with a 6.5% loss this year. Goldman could also see increased valuation multiples from strong earnings and returns on equity and tangible common shareholders' equity, the analyst said. Higher capital requirements or management talent leaves could also hurt shares, as could losses on sales of principal investments.

Or are the stocks that are now hated going to turn out to be precursors of the next downturn? Of all the techs I follow, I think ServiceNow probably had the best quarter. We know what to pay when we think a stock is going up, which is the going price. Next thing you know that stock is down to $143 and you say to yourself, should I buy it back? In that case, you need to sell stocks pretty aggressively until we get oversold, raising cash to 10% like us.

InsiderThe film industry has a sustainability problem, and it's massive: The average tentpole production — a film with a budget over $70 million — generates 2,840 tonnes of carbon dioxide, the British Film Institute reported. Yawger saw raw materials from industry waste transform into items such as tables, outdoor furniture, bowls, and benches. "It revealed the film industry was the second most polluting behind aerospace," Jennifer Sandoval, the director of service development at Earth Angel, told Insider. "Plastic and trash are very visible in the film industry, and people can understand why we need to change things," Yawger said. These changes might help drive a more climate-conscious narrative or simply enable Earth Angel to swap out a character's plastic water bottle for a reusable one.

The last WGA strike in 2007 and 2008 lasted 100 days. Writers say changes from the streaming TV boom have made it difficult for many to earn a living in expensive cities such as New York and Los Angeles. Half of TV series writers now work at minimum salary levels, compared with a third in the 2013-14 season, according to WGA statistics.
Before targeting recruiters, one needs to understand the two main types of executive search firms and recruiters. Contingency recruiters are paid after the search process when the client decides to hire one of the recruiter's proposed candidates. Retained executive search firms charge a consulting fee — paid as a monthly retainer or a percentage of the candidate's salary. I work with a retained search firm, and we are hired by companies, our clients, who pay us to find candidates. Below are nine tips to help candidates land a job by connecting with an executive search consultant without having to pay for anything.

Bankers noted the figure was on pace with the average amount of deals done in the five years preceding the pandemic. Pallava Bagla | Corbis News | Getty ImagesVenture capitalists in Silicon Valley and other tech hubs are investing money in nuclear energy for the first time in history. This surge of private investment will be a positive for the industry, agrees John Parsons, an economist and lecturer at MIT. Nuclear energy is "a very complex science, and it's been supported by the federal government and at these national labs. In the 1960s and 1970s, large conglomerates constructed big nuclear power plants, and those projects often ran over budget. New generations of nuclear reactors will have different sizes, different coolants and different fuels, explained Matt Crozat, senior director of policy development at the Nuclear Energy Institute.

If you don't have a lot of experience with banking, here are four tips you should know before spending another penny.
